AGF Group Foundation lays the groundwork

On January 31, the AGF Group Foundation officially received its status as a charitable organization from the Canada Revenue Agency, entitling it to issue tax receipts for the donations its receives. This accreditation comes with very strict rules to ensure the proper use and stringent management of the funds received. Among the main obligations associated with its status, the Foundation must attribute donations to “recognized recipients,” i.e. other registered Canadian charities. Without going into too much detail, this requirement will determine which activities and causes receive support. To this end, the Foundation’s directors are currently working on drafting the general regulations and donation allocation policies. We will update you on the governance guidelines once this exercise has been completed.

In the next few weeks, the Marketing & Communications team will be contributing to the development of the AGF Group Foundation’s visual identity, including the logo and graphic standards. In addition, we will be consulting you, by means of a survey, so you can help us identify the charitable causes important to you and what type of contribution you would like to make to the Foundation.  For your information, we are hoping that the Foundation’s revenues will come from a combination of the following sources: a percentage of AGF’s profits, employee donations and the proceeds of fundraising campaigns.

We are very enthusiastic to be launching the Foundation’s first activities and responding to requests for support. Above all, we intend to make sure they are representative of all of AGF Group employees’ needs and establish a solid operational structure for the Foundation.
